I am so excited to share with you all one of my favorite bloggers- Cara of A Fashion Love Affair! How awesome is her style? A blogger from Canada, this girl has seen it all in just under a year. A Teen Vogue Fashion Click blogger, and recently a guest stylist for Vancouver's First Fashion Night; Cara shows no sign of stopping. (Oh, and how gorgeous is her hair!) I spoke with her recently about her views on fashion, style, and fall's most wearable trends.
When did you start blogging and what's the reason you started?
I began blogging in January 2011 after being a long-time reader of fashion blogs including Cupcakes and Cashmere, Chic Heroin and Sincerely Jules. I began my blog because I wanted to share my love for fashion with others who felt the same way, and I was also looking for a creative outlet where I could push my own fashion boundaries and have fun.
How would you describe your style?
I think it is really difficult to define one's style, because what is so amazing about fashion is that there really are no rules. I like to have fun with my outfits, and be creative. I am drawn to classic pieces such as a-line skirts or structured dresses and then I love to layer unexpected pieces overtop, or add a belt or accessory to spice it up.
What are your favorite styling tips?
Again, I think fashion is all about the individual, and that one should not feel constricted by having to follow rules, so I suppose that is my favorite styling tip-create an outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful, don't choose a top because it is trendy if it doesn't make you feel great at the same time!
What is your favorite wearable trend for fall?
I am loving the fall looks this season...my favorite wearable trend is definitely leopard print because you can wear a little (a scarf) or a lot (heels or a dress) and it looks chic, stylish and fun.
Thank you Cara! And be sure to check out A Fashion Love Affair for more!
