Cynthia Rowley striped blazer, Heels from Journeys, Leather skirt (I've had forever), Top c/o TJ Maxx, Vince Camuto necklace, Jessica Simpson bag
It's a beautiful day today! I'm loving my day off! Today, I'm spending it by getting my nails done, going out to lunch and going phone shopping- I'm pretty excited. How are you spending this sunny day?
I rarely do "office looks" but I just couldn't resist when I saw this blazer and sleeveless top the other day. Usually one doesn't think that mixing prints and a leather skirt would be appropriate for the office, but it very well can be- you just have to keep in mind a few things.
Length of the skirt is definitely one of the most important things to keep in mind here. Leather is generally one of those things reserved for you bag at work not your actual work attire, but make it work in the office by choosing an authentic leather that isn't too tight and isn't too short. The skirt should skim your hips and be tight enough to show you're a woman, but long and loose enough to show that you're not clubbing it up on a Friday night.
I think mixing prints can be fun for work as long as you keep the colors subtle. A classic black and white pairing with a fitted blazer do just the trick- keeping the eye focused on the print inside and not the width of the stripes.
Would you wear mixed prints to the office?
With that said, hope everyone has a fantastic day and here's today's thought:
