Outfit #1: Necklace c/o Jen Hoodenpyle, Dress from Marshalls, Belt from Rue 21, Heels (old)
Outfit #2: Cardigan from Express, Belt from Rue 21, Tank from Forever 21, Faux leather shorts from Marshalls, necklace c/o Jen Hoodenpyle
I was thrilled when I received this beautiful neon statement necklace in the mail from Jen Hoodenpyle! Her unique pieces are completely original and hand-crafted to trendy, yet lasting perfection! Neon statement necklaces are the "it" accessory this summer and if you want to stand out or add some personality to your outfit, these necklaces are the way to go.
The best way to make the color stand out is to display yours over a simple black and white palette. I recently found this simple, yet classic striped shift dress and knew it was going to be the perfect closet staple for any season. A simple way to update this classic is to add a pop (or two) of neon. Complement your necklace with this season's neon belt to tie the look together. I made sure to keep my shoes simple so as to let the color really take the stage.
Going back to my roots of mixing prints, I decided to style the second look with the same black and white idea, but with faux leather shorts for a more casual, going out look. This time, I added a neon pink belt to coordinate with the colors in the necklace. Best part about a neon necklace with different colors- it's so versatile!
Cheap Thrill Alert:
I found these two belts sold together at Rue 21 this past weekend for only $6.99! Get up there and scoop them up in every color to instantly update your style for summer!
