Primary Prep

Sometimes you just want something comfy on a cold teaching day. This thick striped shift from Gap is the perfect combinations of cute, functional, and cozy. I love the colorblocked twist on this classic- the dress comes in gray stripes with navy blocking or this version with red. I decided to go with the red because it's a color I rarely wear. I like that I can add to it to create a sort of primary color base.

This is the first time I've worn these new mustard wedges, and I'm addicted! The suede is going to make it a little hard to sport them around here as soon as the snow hits. Well in that case, I'm going to get as much use as I an out of them!

How do you guys style a striped dress?

  1. What a fabulous dress. I love the way you paired it with basic colors. I think wearing anything with a big chunky cowl neck scarf is an outfit win!

  2. How cool! I wore a very similar dress a few days ago! I got it from Old Navy, so the inspiration probably came from the same place as your Gap dress. I got the navy stripe with yellow on top. Such cute dresses :)

  4. Such neat shoes! Part of the reason I dislike winter so much is probably because I can't wear half my shoes! Work 'em while you can little lady! They're too pretty not to.
