Color Blocking like Moschino Spring 2011

  • Giraffe print wedge sandals from Charlotte Russe $15
  • White jeans from Aeropostale $13
  • Yellow tank was thrifted for $1.50*Pop of value!
  • Cobalt blue cardigan from Plato's Closet $6 (Aerie)
  • Earrings from Charlotte Russe $2
This outfit today is my relaxed and casual weekend version of Moschino's cobalt blue blazer, yellow blouse, and white pegged pants from his Spring 2011 collection. Much of his collection this spring consisted of nautical themed items including red, white, blue, yellow, stripes and polka dotted items. The nautical theme seems to be seeping into the majority of designers' resort collections this summer as well. This simple color blocking idea [yellow, cobalt blue, and white] is clean, crisp, and classic. While a blazer dresses the look up, a soft cardigan makes it perfect for weekend errands. This non-fussy color combination gives you a little more room to accessorize to fit your personality. Primary colors and nautical-associated colors allow you to liven up the basics with fun neutral prints such as this giraffe print in my shoes. Don't be afraid to choose a hue in the same color family as one of the hues you're wearing in the outfit to add interest to the outfit.
