The "It" Color of 2012: How to Wear Tangerine Every Season

Winter:
Spring:
Summer:
Fall:

After hearing that the "it" color of 2012 is tangerine, I was beside myself! I love this orange hue, and incorporating it into my wardrobe this year will definitely be a fun venture. Are you as excited as I am?

Here are my picks for incorporating this eye-popping hue into your wardrobe over the course of every season. Most of the pieces in my collage are very affordable (read: H&M ring only $6!) however more affordable versions of each pick will be available all year long and I plan on finding you the deals!

For winter, one of the easiest ways to wear this statement color is to don a bright and cozy coat in tangerine! This is such a simple way to make any outfit pop amidst the snow (hey- at least everyone will be able to find you!) and so is wearing the color in a simple beanie. Another fun way to wear this brilliant shade of orange is to throw on a gorgeous scarf with the color popping among neutrals in a pattern like southwestern/Aztec. Of course this pretty shade is oh-so-wearable on your nails all year long!

Bright pants are a trend that continue to be in for 2012, however update yours by switching to pastel and toned-down brights like the tangerine pair above. Let the color be the statement of your outfit by pairing the pants with a neutral silk top and nude heels. The candy-colored watches of last spring, continue to be popular this year with an updated twist. Metallic detailing jazzes up this sporty classic for spring of '12. Much like the winter wool coat, this gorgeous Burberry trench makes a rainy day seem not so gloomy when you throw it over virtually any outfit!

Once summer weather breaks, this kimono dress can be worn beautifully with drapey gold jewelry (and tights for cooler nights) and a pretty citrus-toned bag in colors such as lime or yellow. I'm in LOVE with these Promise heels- they are a fun take on the colorblocking trend and look great as the focal point of your outfit for summer. This lacy orange singlet is adorable and would look amazing paired with some cropped white skinnys. I'm a huge fan of this orange leather Cambridge Satchel Company messenger bag. I've wanted one for about a year now, and this is the perfect time to grab one in this year's "it" color! This cheap thrill of an embellished ring is such an eye-catching piece. This would be a perfect accent to an arm party!

Brighter, more neon-esque hues are best suited for hot weather while autumn gives way to tones that reflect the changing colors of the leaves. Similar to Jeffrey Campbell booties, these clogs are a perfectly toned-down way to sport this year's it color. What better way to cozy up at football games and bonfires than with this huge and comfy tangerine cardigan? I could just see this being worn with Aztec leggings or broken-in boyfriend jeans. Don the color at work with this prim and proper pussy bow blouse or sleeveless silk shirt dress! Ahhh! So many choices, which would you wear?
