5 Must Have Pieces to Update your Wardrobe for Spring 2012

So it's finally almost here! Time to bust out those warmer weather staples that have been hiding in your closet all winter long! Other than brights, skirts, florals, and sandals, there are a few other pieces that you can add to your wardrobe to update your style for Spring 2012. They are:

1. Something Orange

As you are probably already aware- orange/tangerine is the "it" color of 2012. Grab a piece (any piece!) to throw on this season to instantly update your style. Some of my favorites are a twist on the classic striped shirt, tangerine pants, a classic blazer, clutch, or platform suede pumps. The color looks gorgeous paired with neutrals, or try the colorblocking trend by adding another fun color to pair with it!

2. Floral Pants

Don't be afraid of this season's trendiest bottom! The floral (or any printed) pant will go miles to update your look. Top off your choice of trendy trousers with a blouse in a color seen in the print of your pants or don a denim shirt for an extra dose of casual style.

3. A Bright Bag

As we approach warmer weather, nothing screams summer like a bright bag! Pick your favorite electric hue and style of bag to match and you're set!

4. Denim Shirt

Made popular last year, the denim shirt has staying power to boot! This casual staple is perfect for dressing down a ladylike piece like a skirt or for simply throwing over a maxi dress. Other fun ideas include wearing with floral pants, a bright mini, or with your favorite pair of dark wash jeans!

5. A Casual Printed Dress

No matter which pattern you pick, a casual printed dress for spring will turn into your immediate go-to piece! Have fun mixing prints by adding a cardigan with a contrasting print (in the same color scheme) or wear with a pair of bright tights! Add a jean or leather jacket or wear it alone- either way a casual and comfortable dress will take you through spring and summer with ease.
