The oxblood trend that started in the fall of 2010 is back with a vengence. This deep wine hue has made its way from leather jackets to nail polish to the ever-popular ankle booties this season. And luckily for us, there are plenty of ways to wear this coveted color- and even more fantastic- plenty of price points to choose from.

 

My favorite items in this hue are the leather skirt and jacket, tights, blazer, and structured handbags. One of my very favorite colors to wear this tone with would be mustard. Other honorable mentions? Cornflower/sky blue, camel, navy, and pale pink! This perfect gem tone is as slimming as black, richer than purple, and just as fun as summer's neons.

• Pair the trousers with a fitted mustard crewneck sweater with striped navy/white top peeking out underneath
• Don the sheer collared top tucked into a pale pink bubble skirt
• Sport the tights underneath a camel sheath dress with a statement necklace

• Tuck a sky blue oxford button down shirt into the leather oxblood skirt to mix preppy with edgy style
