Winter Makeup Trends & How To Achieve Them

Winter makeup

Silver & Red

Wake up your eyes by adding a silvery shade to your inner lids. This effect creates the illusion of wide-awake peepers. Finish with black kohl eyeliner halfway along your lower lash line and coat with volumizing mascara. Add a bright red to your pout for extra oomph! [One that words with every skin tone: Revlon "Really Red" matte lipstick]

Perfect winter makeup

Punch of Pink

Winter may be the only season to be truly proud of a pale complexion so let your skin take the stage! Keep everything else neutral and add a matte pink lipstick for a pout that is perfection. [A good one to try: Revlon Stormy Pink]

Dewy Glow

For an ethereal angelic look, opt for a good highlighter. Try Benefit High Beam highlighter from Sephora and apply to top of forehead, apples of cheeks and down the center of your nose. Add a thick cat eye winged liquid liner and finish with falsies for a dramatic look. Finish with a nude gloss like Revlon Super Lustrous in Peach Pink for dewy shine.

love the hair color. love the makeup.

Lavender Lights

Faded purple shades add depth to a pale complexion, especially bringing out green eyes. Apply a lilac shade no higher than the crease and just below the bottom lash line. Line lower lash line with soft brown kohl pencil. Feel free to skip the mascara for a natural feel and finish with a nude/lavender shade of lipstick (1 coat) like Revlon Colorburst in Lilac.

Cherubic Cheeks

Crave that cherubic glow from days outside sledding? Get it with Nars blush in Orgasm, or apply its more affordable counterpart Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso- all the wonders of the peach/pink glow; but without the glitter!

Twiggy Lashes

Lash play is fun-especially in the wintertime. Its the only makeup you can O.D. on without looking like, well you know. Play up eyes while keeping everything else simple with a mascara that pulls double duty like CoverGirl LashBlast in Black. Add liquid liner to the inside of your upper lash line (I swear by this trick!) to define your peepers. Double coat both top and bottom lashes for extra oomph. Skip bronzer and blush. Instead, add a highlighter to keep this simple, classic, and clean.
