- Vintage periwinkle skirt
- Thrifted sleeveless top
- Necklace from Aerie
- Belt & cardigan from NY&Co
- Wedge booties from DSW
- Vintage scarf
Okay, okay I know it's freezing outside now- but in all fairness these were taken a few days ago when it was warmer! (Never thought I'd wish it was September!)
I decided to do another "from summer to fall" feature explaining how to transition a different piece. This time I chose this modest length periwinkle skirt.
The length makes it appropriate for pretty much anywhere while the original color opens up a world of things to wear with it. In the interest of keeping it preppy and somewhat conservative, I added a sleeveless gingham shirt in a hue a little more blue than the color of the skirt.
To get that pop of color, I added this pink bow waistbelt from New York & Company. To keep things interesting (and mix prints in a subtle way) I added these fun floral wedges, which pulled some periwinkle, blue, and pink from the rest of the outfit- while giving it that pop of yellow.
In order to transition this skirt for fall, I wanted to add some warmth, but only add layers that would enhance the color scheme of the outfit. I decided to add this lightweight green cardigan over the sleeveless shirt and tie the colors together with this lime, purple, and blue vintage scarf. To make it even more autumn-friendly, I added my favorite (I'm sure you could tell!) wedge booties.
P.S.- I'm in the process of adding a whole bunch of new goodies to the store in the next few days, so keep a lookout for them! :)
