Men's Style: Burgundy Mixed Prints

Levi's jeans, Dockers shoes, AE belt & sweater, Button down shirt from Kohl's

Once again it's men's style Thursday! I love this day because it gives me a chance to be creative in a different way. I think it's so much fun getting into men's style. It's crazy how most of the rules that apply to women's fashion and trends always bridge over into men's style.

Take for instance the mixed print trend. This trend definitely applies to men in several ways. In the outfit pictured here, I wanted to subtly mix prints in the same color family to create a streamlined but more interesting look. This striped sweater is very classic and the navy complements it well. Most men are immediately inclined to take a navy or white shirt to layer underneath this sweater- however in order to spruce up its style factor, try adding a plaid (or other printed) shirt underneath that contains the exact same colors as the sweater itself! This is a very simple, yet foolproof trick that works every time.

What is your favorite way for men to mix prints?

  1. Love it. He look well put together but not that he was trying too hard.

  2. Very cute :) I sometimes have my hubby wear argyle sweater vests over swiss dot or (small) plaids. Patterned ties look great over patterned shirts sometimes too, if you get the right ones together!
