Trail Mix

Ralph Lauren vintage vest, Tartan scarf & striped top from Plato's Closet, PacSun Superskinny Bullhead jeans, Kenneth Cole Bright Actress boots via Marshalls, Cami from A&F

I felt like a hiker in this outfit, but I absolutely love it because of how casual and simple it is! The top and scarf are two recent purchases (both together=$5 total) and work perfectly when worn together as mixed prints! I think tartan is more of a winter print to mix. Not to mention, the texture really soft and cozy! One in every color please! (Maybe that's too much to ask for for $4 haha)

I'm definitely a baseball cap girl; well a hat girl in general. Hats are my go-to when I know I'm having a bad hair day or when I'm just too lazy to attempt to do something with it. Ever have those days? Of course you do. So throw on a hat and poof! Looks like you planned it. Sneaky.

I'm starting to get back into wearing regular jeans. Guess I got a little carried away with the whole 'colored jean' trend. Yeah, can't say I've really gotten out of it yet (as I'm still elated over my recent coral purchase), and it's not lookin good for the future either. I'll probably always love the look of brightening your entire outfit with a pair of colored pants. But I digress...

These Bullhead jeans are definitely "those jeans" for me. You know, the ones you practically live in for weeks after you bought them, wear when you can't find anything else on a Friday night, and (shhh, don't tell) don them again for your Saturday afternoon errands? Exactly. These are those for me. However, I bought them two years ago, and have tried to give them a bit of a breather. Haven't worn them in months, and so I thought hey what the heck.

Nothing says relaxed and comfortable like your favorite pair of jeans and a basic tee. Ahhhh...

Here's a little quote I found today that I thought I'd share. I know we're all consumed in our daily lives (and in a style blogger's case- clothing, clothing, clothing), but I think it's important to remember to not only cloth ourselves in fashion, but also in strength and dignity. When we feel strong and confident, stress seems to fade into the background, and the daily grind takes us just a little bit closer to that light at the end of our tunnel where what we're ultimately working toward will come to pass.
Hope you all are having a wonderful week. :)

  1. I loooove that Bible verse, it's so good! This is a really cute outfit...you look absolutely darling and I love the pattern combo. Understand about the "it" pair of jeans. I have some from H&M that I wear every time I want denim, even though there are a couple other pairs in my wardrobe...they're just too comfy to pass over!
