Spring 2012 Makeup Trends

Lilac pastels looks brilliant on eyes this spring when worn with matte nude lipstick.

The intense smokey eye look looks great all on its own, without any added color.

Would you wear colorblocked makeup? Fresh hues like tangerine and fuchsia get an update when worn together.

The cat eye isn't just for night anymore! This dramatic eyeliner look is fresh on a blank canvas with no eyeshadow and pale pink lips.

Or make the cat eye even more daytime appropriate by donning the look in a softer hue like golden beige.

Pastels are trending in makeup too. Try spring's fresh new shade on mint on your lids and skip the eyeliner.

Try lilac on your eyes, this color really brings up those baby blues. For a depth effect, don a darker shade in the crease and under bottom lash line.

Metallics are totally wearable for daytime makeup. Apply only in the crease and skip the eyeliner for a fresh face.

Try something new and go bold with a heavily-pigmented color like marigold on lids. Finish with extra coats of black mascara for dramatic effect.

Runways for spring fashion week's designers were all about the romantic look. Achieve it by flushing cheeks with a rosy-bronze glow and finishing with shimmer powder. Keep eyes and lips neutral to look like a natural beauty.

The sporty look was a hit on the runways as well. Skip eyeshadow, apply lip balm and primer and flush those cheeks with a bronze-peach blush. A good one to try: MAC Ripe Peach.

For a new going out look, try pairing this season's cat eye, with only pale pink matte lipstick. Try YSL Rouge Volupte in #19: Frivolous Pink or MAC Viva Glam Gaga.

Fuchsia lips scream summertime! All you need is a tan! Try Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink or Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Fifth Avenue Fuchsia.

Glossy fuchsia lips look ethereal with soft gold shimmery eye makeup.

The classic red lip continues to be in trend for spring. For a look that's this season, try a true red lip with neutral eyeshadow. A color that flatters every skin tone: Revlon Matte Lipstick in "Really Red".

  5. These are really amazing makeup tutorials. I especially love the one with the fuchsia lip...Do you feel that these would be appropriate for this fall/winter, as well?
