It's the perfect kickoff to summer- mixing black and white pieces with your new bright separates! As I've mentioned in previous posts, tribal prints are in style this season, and pops of bright color breathe new life into black and white pieces. When accessorizing such looks, the new trend is to find a complementary color to whatever bright separate you're working with such as turquoise jewelry with bright pink/red/coral pieces or cobalt blue with bright yellow. These are two color combos that are fresh and unique on the runways this season and are sure to make a statement in your wardrobe in the hot temps arriving soon. Again, lightweight fabrics such as silk, satin, and cotton are your best bets for beating summer heat. Be sure not to pile on the belts and accessories in hotter temperatures as they are constricting; and remember that layering is not a good idea in this type of weather. Instead if you're going for the illusion of a smaller waistline, try looking for tops with a built-in "cinch" like the one pictured above- it'll be a lot cooler for you.

Pop of health/fitness: When shopping for produce, try purchasing some watercress. This summer green helps make hair, skin and nails look amazing. This is because the vegetable delivers zinc (which stimulates protein and collagen renewal to keep skin acne-free and nails strong), vitamin A ( which helps to ward off fine lines) and calcium. A great recipe idea would be to enjoy watercress by whipping it up into pesto by adding olive oil, garlic, and Parmesan cheese. This veggie is also great in a marinade, as a bruschetta topping, or in any pasta dish.
