Asymmetrical Color Blocking

  • Vintage dress
  • Wedge sandals from Charlotte Russe
  • Vintage necklace
  • MAC eyeshadow in Burnt Orange
Color blocking is a popular trend this summer, and what better way to pull off the trend in hot temperatures than to wear it in a hassle-free casual dress? I found this dress while shopping this weekend, and thought the silk was incredibly soft and breathable. Dresses like this don't bind and can also be worn with torn jeans or solid leggings with oxford flats for fall. This kind of a versatile piece is worth the investment. I decided to pair this dress for summer with a pair of fun printed wedge sandals and a long necklace. A dress this bright doesn't need a lot of jewelry. In addition, I chose a longer neutral necklace so as not to challenge the deep neckline and asymmetrical lines of the dress. Short, colored necklaces often add too much clutter and confusion; and can look tacky like a bad 80s ensemble.

Have a red flag weightOnce you’ve lost the weight, you need to keep it off. This is where the red flag comes in. You need to pick a weight and vow to never get heavier than it again. It is normal for your body to fluctuate five to ten pounds. The author recommends picking a weight that is ten pounds heavier than what you “normally” weigh and never weigh more than it again.
